Polka Dot Gradient on Pink

Polka dots! oh how I love them!

The other day when I was at Shopper's Drug Mart I spotted this polish in the clearance bin.  I absolutely love this colour. It's Nicole by OPI 'All Kendall-ed Up'. Another polish from the Kardashian line.  Although I'm not a fan of the Kardashian's I love the polishes.

For this look I used my dotter to create a gradient polka dot effect.  I'm in a bright colour nail polish mood lately.  It makes me smile and think of summer.

Born Pretty Review- Swarovski Flatback Clear Crystals

Review time!!!

Daisy from Born Pretty Store had me choose some more product to review.  I decided to go a little crazy (for me) and review Swarovski Flatback Clear Crystals.  Due to me being a picker I rarely use nail art that can easily be picked off.  Good news though...I didn't pick these off!   They were itty bitty which is great for me. After awhile I didn't even realize they were on there.

I don't have a special picker upper for placing these on my nails. What I do is dip an orange stick in a little bit of top coat, let it dry for a couple seconds then use it to pick up the stones.  It works pretty darn good!

If your interested in buying some of these yourself please feel free to use my coupon code NADL91 to receive 10% off.  You can also find this code on my side bar

Julep -February Box

Hello Folks!

I haven't posted a Julep box in a while now.  Truth be told I skipped a couple.  I've not been a fan of the finishes in the past couple months(crackle, suede etc.). I like to stick with plain old creme finish nail polish

I went with the 'It Girl' box because they said there was a holographic. Awesome right?!...not so much
It claims 'Rebel' is a sliver holographic.  When I think of holographic I'm thinking  Nfu Oh.  I felt kind of cheated. I totally disagree that this is a holographic

C'est la vie! :oP

  • Joan: Raspberry plum with rose gold shimmer
  • Rebel: Silver holographic
  • Marion: Smoky blue with silver shimmer

Fan Brush technique

I've been dying to try the fan brush technique.  When I bought my first set of brushes I did not have a clue what it was meant for...and probably still don't.
During my hiatus I still checked out blogs and noticed this done a couple times.  This was my first attempt and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I probably used 5 different blue polishes and one white to complete this look. When I put on the top coat it almost created a water colour look.
Very easy peasy.   Just dip the brush in the polish and swipe across the nail.

I'm planning on doing this again soon.  Maybe with a little crazier colours.

Snow Globe Pool Party! NailPolishCanada.com Review

Good morning all

Today I have another review for you from NailPolishCanada.com. I will be showing you both China Glaze Snow Globe and  Pool Party.

To start off  I want you to take note that my photos in no way capture the colour of Pool Party.  I tried inside photos and out. Nothing seemed to work. As I'm writing this post I'm thinking that maybe I should have played around with the white balance. Does anyone else have problems capturing neons?

I finally just decided to post it along with a picture from their website.  The bottle is true to the colour.

Pool Party is an extremely eye catching neon pink.  I received so many compliments on it.  It screams summer time.  Every time I looked at my nails it made me so happy. If only the weather can catch up with my nails. The below picture shows the polish without a topcoat.  As most neons are its a matte finish

Snow Globe is a beautiful iridescent glitter. I only had to use one coat to get the below look.  I also added a topcoat to Pool Party in the below pictures.  I can't help it I really need that shine

NailPolishCanada review -China Glaze 'For Audrey'

REVIEW DAY!!!!

The lovely James at Nail Polish Canada has sent me a couple polishes to review.  The polish of the day is China Glaze 'For Audrey'.  I actually already had a bottle of this. That alone says how awesome it is ;)

If you have not checked out nailpolishcanada.com I highly suggest you do. They have a very wide variety of polish and nail art.  The first time I came across the website I was actually Googling other Canadian nail polish bloggers. I'm so happy I found them.  I'm a sucker for Canadian businesses.  When I can purchase within my own country that's a big bonus.  The customer service is amazing as well. They are so quick to get back to you with any questions or concerns. Nothing drives me more crazy than having to wait days and days for someone to get back to you.   It's no wonder their slogan is 'Your Friendly Neighbourhood Polish People'.

If you do not already have a bottle of China Glaze 'For Audrey' I suggest you get on it.  It's one of those must have polishes.  Only two coats required! The application is amazing
After swatching the polish(see below) I decided to give ring finger a little kick.  I used my dotter(also purchased at NailPolishCanada) to create a fun little design. Hope you like!

Below swatch is more true to colour

Urban Stamped

It's Friday!!!! You know the best way to start a Friday???......getting a text from your boss saying 'take a snow day'.  Yippeeee. I started to sing a song called 'I love my boss'.

Today I have something simple but fun. I decided to just stamp my thumb this time. Mostly because this stamp would not fit on my ring finger.  I really like the look though.  It reminds me of when everyone use to wear thumb rings.  Very weird comparison but that's what it made me think of :)

The polish is two coats of Revlon's 'Urban'.  It said new shade on the bottle but how new I do not know.  Its almost like a navy purple.  I love it!  The stamp is BM214 from Bundle Monster.  Everyone kept asking if it was a sticker.  That's when you know you did a good job

Have a great weekend !

Subtle Geometrics

Good Morning All

I have something a little fun but work friendly for you today.  This look just randomly popped in to my head. I wanted to do something a little funky but that didn't stand out too much. This is what came of it.

Subtle but fun right?  ;) I wish I could tell you what colours I used but I have no idea whatsoever.  I'm thinking a little Sally Hansen and Revlon.

Now that both my camera and computer are working I'm finally able to show you what I've been up to. YIPEEEE!!!!

Although this post today is just so-so as I had to take the picture with my phone things are about to change!  I got to work today and my new power cord for my computer is finally in!  I have pictures on my camera that I can't wait to download.  You will for sure see alot more of me......I promise you this ;)  Let's just hope its the right cord!

For this look I used Sally Hansen's Salon Effect's in 'Plum Night'.  I used striping tape on my ring finger to add a little something something

See you soon!
