Julep -February Box

Hello Folks!

I haven't posted a Julep box in a while now.  Truth be told I skipped a couple.  I've not been a fan of the finishes in the past couple months(crackle, suede etc.). I like to stick with plain old creme finish nail polish

I went with the 'It Girl' box because they said there was a holographic. Awesome right?!...not so much
It claims 'Rebel' is a sliver holographic.  When I think of holographic I'm thinking  Nfu Oh.  I felt kind of cheated. I totally disagree that this is a holographic

C'est la vie! :oP

  • Joan: Raspberry plum with rose gold shimmer
  • Rebel: Silver holographic
  • Marion: Smoky blue with silver shimmer

Christmas Ornament Inspired Nails

Hey Buddies!

I have my first Christmas nails for you.  Although I'm not a big red with green fan I knew I had to do at least one.  I decided to use an ornament for my inspiration.  This is the only red and green ornament I have on my tree so it was not a difficult decision.

The full nail is in Julep's 'Delaunay'.  Its a beautiful rich red creme that unfortunately is almost gone :(.  The gold is Quo by Orly's 'Filthy Rich'.  This bottle is also getting pretty low. I think a new one will be required soon especially during the holiday season. I then used some green glitter to recreate the sequins on the ornaments.

Hope you enjoy

Pink....meet blue tips!

Well it's the beginning of the work week. Booooooo.  Hopefully I make it through. The big boss is coming down on Wednesday and the possibility of me being laid off is 50/50. eeks!  Who is going to buy my polish then???? Best not to worry about it I guess.

So for this colourful french manicure I used my Julep polishes once again. I love their creams.  Amazing application.

I covered the full nail in Julep's 'Eva'.  I then used my favourite polish, 'Gunta' to do the tips.  This photo is kind of bright in colour.  They are both a little darker in real life.  I didn't use tape to keep the blue tips straight.  All good though, my trusty striping tape came to the rescue

I LOVE BRIGHT COLOURS!!!!

Gunta Stamping

Hey Peeps!

Once again I have no half moon nails for you.  I hope I can get some pictures in tonight and post tomorrow.  Galaxy is Saturday which I'm so excited about.

So instead I have a little more vault action. These were only done about 2 weeks ago.  I had a lot of fun with them but was a little to quick with the top coat.  I always get so frustrated after doing a nice stamping job and screwing it up because I'm impatience.

I started off what I imagine to be Essie's 'Yogaga' as a base.  Then I used Julep's 'Gunta' to stamp Bundle Monster plate BM322.  I have to say that 'Gunta' is an amazing polish to stamp with.  This is my fav polish of the moment. I love it in every which way.  I then taped off my nails in a chevron shape(this was quite awhile after letting the stamp and top coat dry).  Using 'Gunta' again I filled in the designated areas :o)

Top coated it and voila

Julep October 'Maven's Choice Box'

FEATURED OCTOBER 10TH 'NAIL OF THE DAY' ON JULEP FACEBOOK PAGE

Good morning everyone!!!   Back to work after a nice long Thanksgiving weekend.

Today I have for you my October Julep Maven's Box.  I was going to opt out this month because all the boxes had crackle nail polish.  Although I've seen some cool nail art with crackle I'm not a big fan myself.  In fact I threw out the only crackle I had.  So back to the story.  I guess people made a big stink about the crackle polish so they came back with a different option know as the Maven's Choice box.  Of course I could not resist ;)

As per usual I had to do a mani with all the colours I received in the box.  I used two coats of 'Lisa' on my entire nail.  Then I created the dotted diagonal lines with my trusty dotter.  The rich burgundy colour is 'Keira' and the deep grey blue is 'Eloise'.  Of course this was incredibly fun for me to do as I love me some dots!

Below is a photo of the box.  We also received some Candy Corn and two glitter pots.  I'll be playing around with this glitter soon so look out ;)

31 Day Challenge: Glitter

Yes, I am a day late posting the glitter challenge. Our family had our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday so things were a little hectic.  This will be the first of two posts today.  I did two Thanksgiving inspired mani's to show you.

I don't usually take pictures of my glitter manicures.  I always get so frustrated because the camera can't capture the sparkliness. I know most others have the same problem though.

I used two coats of Julep's 'Eloise' which I received in Octobers Julep box.  I will post those goodies for you tomorrow.  The glitter I had picked up at Micheal's some time ago.  I used the tip of an orange stick to place them.

September Julep Maven Mystery Box

JULEP'S 'NAIL OF THE DAY' SEPTEMBER 26TH

Today I have my review of my September Julep maven Mystery box.  This is the first one I’ve bought so my 3rd box to date.  The mystery boxes come out once and awhile. Just like the others its $19.99 but you can receive anywhere from $60 to $200 worth of product.

I was waiting on mine to arrive so had to search the web to see what other people received.  There was actually quite a bit of hoopla about the whole deal.  Apparently a lot of people got less than $60 worth of product. Looks like mine was worth $56.00. I read that when someone contacted Julep they said the little reusable bag was worth $5.00. Obviously that’s not true but I think that enough people complained that they won’t be making the same mistake again. Forgive and forget ;)

As per usual I decided to make a manicure out of just Julep nail polish.  This is my first attempt at doing a needle design(is that what it's called?).  I did my full nail in Eva I then added dots in the same colour as well as the blue.  I think this is the mystery colour because it did not have a name.  Then I took my trusty safety pin and made some swirls. I’m for sure doing this again.  It was pretty fun!

Did anyone else get the mystery box?

From right to left. Jennifer(a pale sheer pink), Eva(deep raspberry creme), Mystery colour (blue shimmer), Portia(blue glitter)

This picture does not do the colours justice.  I tried taking it in my light box I made.  No matter what the pictures are very poor quality when I use it. Any suggestions to make the lighting more natural?

Julep Maven September 'It Girl' Box

JULEP'S 'NAIL OF THE DAY' SEPTEMBER 21ST

I'm so excited to finally share with you guys my September Julep Maven Box.  I was waiting to post until I received my free polish so I could do it all in one post.  I have to say I'm loving these boxes!  It's only my second but so far so good!
I decided to go with the It girl box again.  As I mentioned in my last Julep post I'm not actually an 'It Girl'....but my nails are.  Below is just something fun I did up so you could see all the colours.  The swatches are below.

Obviously the blue is my favourite!! I was able to pick one extra from the whole collection and this was without a doubt the one I was choosing.

See swatches below!!!
