Giveaway/Challenge Time!!!!- CLOSED

CLOSED

WAHOOOOOO!

I promised a giveaway so here it is!

When I took the poll on how I should do this I think most were interested in doing a contest.  I’m so happy because that’s what I wanted.  What nail art enthusiast wouldn’t want a bunch of people doing nail art for them!

The theme will be food!....anything goes!  My husband is a chef so I figured it would be a great theme and he could help out with the judging! I will not be judging myself.  Both my sister-in-law and husband will be doing the judging. If they can’t decide on a winner then I suppose I’ll have to go buy a second prize ;os

THEME: FOOD.
I’m not saying you have to paint  steak and potatoes on your nails.  It can be inspired by any food.  For example if it is inspired by an orange you can paint your fingers orange and just add some seeds.  Pretty easy peasy
There is no rules as far as what you can use. If you want to stamp it, be my guest. I will however let the judges know whether it’s free hand, stamped, decal etc. etc.  How they want to incorporate it into their judging is up to them.I will not get involved in that part.  (hint: my sister-in-law is a crafter so she loves a little talent). Also if it is inspired by food I will let them know the type of food.

Additional rules:
·         You must be a follower of Nail Narcotics!
·         Post title must contain ‘Nail Narcotics Giveaway challenge’
·         When posting your entry on your blog please make sure you have a link to this post.
·         Post blog link in comment section below or email to nailnarcotics@gmail.com
·         Due date is Saturday September 29th(or at least when I get up in the morning on Sunday. I’m an early riser)

Contest is open internationally.  It will be sent Canada Post so patience would be required for those across the ocean!

Now on to the fun part…..the prize!!! I’ve purchased these all myself.   Photos don't do the product justice so google if you would like a better idea of the product

31 Day Challenge: Yellow

I have to start off with and angry sad face......:o(

I had so many problems with my yellow nail polish.  All of them were giving me a hard time.  I used thinner in some but nothing worked.  So frustrating!

Finally I decided forget the free hand I'm using a stamp! Thank goodness because it helped cover up some of the streaky grossness(not a real word but it fits) of the yellow. I ended up really liking it

Indirect light

Direct sunlight

I used two coats of Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow.  It's co-operated with me in the past but not this time. Then I stamped over with Konad image plate M65.  This is by far my favourite stamp.  Who doesn't love argyle!  It's especially adorable on little baby clothes.  Miniature argyle sweaters??..... Yes please!

Here is one of my fails.... I just was not a fan of it at all

Make sure to check out the other ladies yellow nails!

Glossy Box Zoya nail polish...with a little stamp action!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Saturday!   Quick post for you today.

I've finally got settled in enough that I could pull out my Konad plates to make a mess of the table :o)   I wanted to show off the Zoya nail polish that I got in my final Glossy Box.  It's a subtle pink shimmer called Rory. Not something I would typically pick out but the quality is amazing.  This is two coats and it went on beautifully. I'm not sure if all Zoya polish is like this because it's my first bottle.  How do you guys feel about Zoya?

I used Konad image plate M64. It was also the first time I've used Konad's special polish. It's so nice not having to search your polishes for one that will stamp nicely!

Julep Maven Introductory Box- It Girl

Happy Friday!
What an amazing way to start a Friday.  I was locking up the house to go to work and noticed something in the mailbox.  It was my introductory box to Julep Maven!  I subscribed at the beginning of August so it took about two weeks to get here.  I had a subscription to Glossy Box but was rather disappointed with it.  I decided to switch beauty boxes because I knew I would be getting something I liked each month!  Of course in the last Glossy Box I received there was a bottle of Zoya nail polish.  :oP I also managed to snag my sister-in-laws polish

Like anything else I get into I researched a bit on Google first.  I read mixed reviews so decided to take the chance.  As I’m sure most of you know you have to take a quiz on the website to see what beauty category you are in. This part I’m not a huge fan of.  Nails are the one thing I can go a little crazy with.  Apparently I’m ‘Classic with a Twist’ but decided to go with the ‘It Girl’ introductory box. Not just because I liked the colours but because it was the only one with three polishes.

I’ve swatched the three polishes below.  Yes, I did this as soon as I got to work.  From left to right we have Blake, Claire and Morgan.  I’m not a huge fan of Morgan because I’m not a huge shimmer fan.  I loooove Claire though.

Sorry for the picture quality.  They had to be taken with my phone

This is not the only thing that is making a happy Friday. I’m also getting some Konad polishes and stamping plates today.  I’m buying them from someone on Kijiji(Canadian site almost like Craig’s list minus the psycho murdering crazies).  They’ll be here sooooon :o)

POST UPDATE
OH HAPPY DAY!

Also, because I'm a crazy dog lover I just wanted to show a pick of my puppy Casey! He had his manhood snipped off Wednesday.  It's the funniest thing watching him trying to manuver around the house with the huge cone

CandyLand Nails-Homework assignment....failed :(

For the second week now Nicole at Nearly Nailed and I have decided to do a Sunday night homework challenge.  Before I go any further on this weeks challenge I just want to suggest that you all go check out her blog.  It's a great blog to follow and shes a really funny sweet girl.  She's been helping me out with Twitter but I'm still iffy about it. (she seems to be a pro) Blogger is still giving me enough challenges to handle

Anywhooo..... last week we both attempted our first jelly sandwich manicure.  This week Nicole decided what the homework assignment would be. She decided on a manicure inspired by our favourite board game.  That was hard for me because I hate board games. I just can't stand sitting and playing something that I know I have to finish. lol I thought back to the one game I use to love when I was little....Candy Land! I never owned it myself but my friend did and we always use to play.  Of course I grew up with the 80's Candy land.  Alot has changed since then.
I decided to assign each nail to a different location on the game board. I had an idea in my mind before attempting this and it looked AMAZING!....then I attempted it :o(
I did not keep track of the nail polish I used as I was all over the place.  Take a look below to see what locations inspired what nails!

Although you can't see very well in the photo I had purple glitter on the plums.  It was VERY sparkly :)

Peppermint Forest was probably the easiest

I had added glitter to the microbeads to give it that extra sugar look. Unfortunately you can't see it.....again :(

I was not happy with this one at all.  I was going to try something else but was on a time limit.  (I'm still packing for the move)

For Molasses Swamp I actually had to mix polishes together to get brown. I need to get a brown polish.  I used a Konad stamp to get the swirly effect

So all in all I'm not going to lie.  I was not happy with this at all. The only reason I'm posting this one is for Nicole.  :oP  Next week is my choice of homework assignment. hmmmmmm ;)
