Braided Nails

I'm not going to lie this is not the first time I've attempted a braid manicure.....but it is the second so take it easy on me ;o)
I actually hope to do a little more tutorials like I did with my caviar nails.  Right now it is not possible though as I'm in the midst of packing and moving.  As soon as we get settled in to our new place I will be sure to do some.  I always love seeing how things are done myself so that's why I plan on doing it.
For this manicure I started off with two coats of Finger Paints 'Inkblot Blue'. I decided to just do the braid on my ring finger because it was a little frustrating for me :oP. In the braid I used the 'Inkblot Blue, Quo's 'Steel Heart' and Rimmel's 'Black Satin'.
The concept is pretty easy because all of us girls have made a braid at some point in our life.  The difficulty for me was keeping the lines straight. Something else I will have to work on is keeping it centre. It slowly went to one side.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions to make this go a little more smoothly for me?

  1. Omg this is beautiful!! I would have never ever guessed this was your second time doing this, I think u need to give yourself way more credit ; )
Btw I'm a new follower and just wanna say I really love your blog, keep up the good work!

    Natty xo

  2. This is brilliant for only your second attempt. The colours look great together xx

  3. Very neat idea!!! I think it turned out great! The only thing I can think of is to lay the brush down flat to get straighter lines, but your lines look very good to me.

  4. I've always wanted to try this and have seen it done a few different ways- very cool! Love your blog. I have nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award.

  5. I love your unique take on the 'make the ring finger nail the special one' trend! The most I ever do with the ring finger nail is to add some sparkles! :)

  6. I honestly think your braided nails are one the goods ones I have seen lurking around :)
They look perfectly straight and centered to me.

I don't know how well this method would work since I have never done braided nails but maybe do a dotted line at the bottom center of the nail before you paint on the strips so you have more of a guide?

I would love to know how the third trial works out!

  7. I tried to attempt this the other day....EPIC FAIL!!!! I just made the biggest friggin mess and gave up. I'm sure i'll try again someday.

Thank you for any comments. I read each one and love the feedback
